Introduction to PVC Sports Flooring Installation System:
PVC sports flooring is a type of sports floor developed specifically for sports venues using polyvinyl chloride materials. Specifically, it is made from polyvinyl chloride and its copolymer resins as the main raw materials, with fillers, plasticizers, stabilizers, colorants, and other auxiliary materials added. It is produced on a sheet continuous substrate through coating processes or through calendering, extrusion, or pressing processes. Generally, it consists of multiple layers, typically including a wear-resistant layer (with UV treatment), a fiberglass layer, an elastic foam layer, and a base layer. PVC sports flooring is widely used, and it is specified for use in various international competitions such as the Olympics, indicating a very broad market prospect for this type of flooring. PVC flooring is an environmentally friendly product that is aesthetically pleasing, heat-resistant, wear-resistant, and antibacterial, but due to its thickness of only 2mm, it has high requirements for the ground surface.
Performance Characteristics:
1. Green and Environmentally Friendly
Products from regular channels are inspected by the National Environmental Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, and all technical indicators meet environmental standards. They have high-tech antibacterial functions and are non-toxic, odorless, environmentally friendly, waterproof, slip-resistant, and mold-resistant.
2. Excellent Sports Performance
The ergonomic irregular circular texture design on the surface of the floor optimizes the sliding coefficient, providing athletes with better mobility and offering explosive elastic power structures for various professional and intense technical movements such as starting, jumping, sliding, and braking.
3. Easy Installation
It can be installed according to user needs without being limited by the size of the venue, and it is also relatively easy to move.
4. Easy to Clean
The PVC surface has the ability to repel external pollutants. If the surface is dirty, it can be easily cleaned with a mop. For excessive dirt, a special floor cleaner can be used, making maintenance and cleaning convenient and cost-effective.
5. Safe to Use
PVC sports flooring is divided into different layers, each with different functions, providing reliable protection for athletes and minimizing injuries.
Applicable Scope:
PVC sports flooring is widely used in various sports venues, such as badminton, table tennis, volleyball, tennis, basketball, handball, indoor soccer competition and training venues, multi-functional venues, various gyms, dance studios, schools, union activity rooms, multi-purpose halls, amusement parks, kindergartens, sports goods stores, offices, and activity spaces in hotels and hospitals.
Standards for Testing the Base Floor Before PVC Flooring Installation:
1. Humidity: The moisture content of the base floor should be less than 3%, keeping the ground dry before construction.
2. Hardness: Use a sharp chisel to quickly cut the surface without leaving marks or grooves.
3. Flatness: The height difference within a 2m range should be less than 2mm.
4. Cracks: The width of cracks in the ground should not exceed 1mm.
5. Density: The ground should not be too rough or have excessive pores; the floor should be smooth.
6. Cleanliness: Oil stains, wax, paint, and other residues should be removed from the ground.
7. Temperature: The indoor temperature during construction should not be lower than 13°C.
Installation of PVC Sports Flooring:
1. Mobile Installation:
The flooring is bonded together with special connecting strips provided by the manufacturer, and the flooring is not bonded to the ground surface, allowing for easy rolling up or moving of the PVC sports flooring.
2. Fixed Installation:
1. Semi-Fixed: Special double-sided tape is used to bond the flooring together, while also connecting the flooring to the ground, effectively preventing movement and gaps due to intense sports activities, and facilitating future relocation of the entire venue if needed.
2. Local Bonding: Adhesive is applied inward from the edge of the flooring by 20cm as a reference.
3. Full Adhesive Bonding: Adhesive is applied over the entire area of the ground where the flooring will be laid.
[Base Requirements]:
The construction ground must be clean, consistently clean, have high flatness, and be free of cracks. The moisture content of concrete floors must not exceed 2.5%. The moisture content of gypsum floors must not exceed 0.5%. Before laying the flooring, the ground should be dusted, and then PVC sports flooring can be laid. If the original ground is uneven, a self-leveling compound of about 2mm can be applied. For non-absorbent surfaces such as mineral bases, stone, tiles, etc., direct installation is possible.
[Note]: If it is a damp surface such as a basement, a waterproof layer must be applied to isolate moisture.
[Installation Steps]:
1. The surface must be flat and clean.
2. Before laying the PVC sports flooring, it must be unfolded and laid flat on the installation surface for more than 24 hours, and the on-site temperature should not be lower than 15°C. After the flooring has settled, leave an extra 5cm at both ends when cutting. Before gluing, roll up half of the unfolded flooring in the opposite direction, then apply adhesive starting from the middle using a notched trowel.
3. Arrange the flooring in numerical order, aligning and merging them, ensuring alignment with the venue lines during installation.
4. Open the adjacent two pieces of flooring along the seam, place the manufacturer's special connecting strip underneath the seam, apply adhesive on the surface of the connecting strip, first attach one board to half of the connecting strip, then attach the other half to the remaining connecting strip, and tighten the gap.
5. Use water-soluble adhesive that is harmless to humans for installation. When adhering the flooring, use a cork block to press the surface from the center towards both ends to ensure it is flat without bubbles, and roll it thoroughly to flatten.
6. After the floor is glued, proceed with grooving and welding, and after welding, the weld line should be leveled.
7. After laying, use a professional roller to fully press the floor to the acceptance standard.
Maintenance and care:
Maintenance precautions: During visits to users of PVC sports flooring, it was found that many users treat PVC sports flooring like marble or tiles, and do not understand floor maintenance knowledge, resulting in damage and pollution of the PVC sports flooring. Experts from Han Cai remind that the following issues should be noted.
1. Sand and stone protection: A sand and stone protective mat should be placed at the entrance of the room using PVC sports flooring and at the entrance of the hall to prevent shoes from bringing sand and stones into the room and scratching the floor surface.
2. Item handling protection: When moving items, especially those with sharp metal bottoms, do not drag them on the floor to prevent damage to the floor.
3. Fire protection: Although PVC sports flooring has a fire resistance rating of difficult to ignite (B1 level), it does not mean that the floor will not be burned by fire. Therefore, when using PVC sports flooring, do not place burning cigarette butts, incense, electric irons, or high-temperature metal items directly on the floor to prevent damage.
4. Regular floor maintenance: Clean PVC sports flooring with neutral cleaners; strong acids or strong alkalis should not be used to clean the floor, and regular cleaning and maintenance should be done.
a. Daily maintenance: Use a clean, 90% dry mop to clean the floor, and for heavily soiled areas, perform localized cleaning.
b. Monthly maintenance: Clean the floor, and wax treatment for locally damaged areas. Generally, waxing the floor once a month is advisable.
5. Pollution treatment: Stains from ink, food, grease, etc. on PVC sports flooring should be wiped off, and then the marks should be scrubbed with diluted cleaner. If residual black shoe prints are difficult to remove, use a cloth dipped in rosin to scrub, but do not pour rosin directly on the floor for cleaning; after scrubbing, re-wax for maintenance.
6. Precautions: Do not use cleaning balls or knives to scrape the floor. For stains that cannot be cleaned with conventional methods, consult relevant personnel, and do not misuse chemicals like acetone or toluene.
7. Chemical protection: Avoid large amounts of water remaining on the floor surface for long periods. Prolonged soaking of the floor may cause water to seep underneath, dissolving the floor adhesive and losing adhesion, and may also cause the protective wax on the floor surface to separate, leading to floor pollution. Additionally, wastewater may seep into the floor, causing discoloration.
8. Sunlight protection: Avoid direct strong light exposure, and ensure the floor is protected from ultraviolet radiation to prevent discoloration and fading.
