Water-based epoxy primer
Classification:
Product Details
Main Use
Can be used in conjunction with water-based epoxy topcoat.
Main Characteristics
1. Appears gray or red.
2. Water-based two-component epoxy primer, containing zinc phosphate, aluminum polyphosphate and other active non-toxic anti-rust pigments and rust inhibitors.
3. Can form a tough anti-rust paint film.
4. Uses water as the dispersing medium, non-explosive, can be diluted and cleaned with water.
5. No pollution during construction, with safety and environmental protection characteristics.
Main Parameters
Solid content ≥50%
Dry film thickness: 60 microns (equivalent to 120 microns wet film thickness)

Mixing ratio: A:B = 9:1 (weight ratio)
Diluent: Clean fresh water
Paint equipment cleaning agent: Clean fresh water
Usage period: 20℃: 3h (hours)
Drying time: Surface dry 4h, hard dry 24h (substrate temperature 25℃)
Overcoating interval: Minimum time 3h, maximum unrestricted (substrate temperature 25℃)
Specific gravity: 1.25Kg/L
Construction Method
1. It is recommended to use airless spraying and brushing or rolling.
2. Traditional spraying is not recommended.
3. Previous coating: zinc-rich primer, water-based epoxy anti-rust primer, water-based epoxy zinc phosphate or aluminum polyphosphate primer, approved solvent-based coatings.
4. Subsequent coatingCoating: water-based epoxy topcoat, water-based acrylic paint, etc., can also overcoat solvent-based coatings, but the minimum overcoating interval should be extended.
Technical Requirements
1. When used as a primer: remove grease with appropriate cleaners, sandblast to Sa2.5 level or use power tools to rust to St3 level, roughness 40-70 microns. Keep the surface clean and dry.
2. Since water-based coatings easily flow away from sharp edges forming "edge effect", to protect edges from corrosion, edges should be smoothed and pre-coated.
3. When used as an intermediate coat, it can only be used on approved film surfaces, ensuring cleanliness and dryness.
4. During construction and drying, the ambient temperature should preferably be above 10℃, relative humidity below 80%, substrate temperature should be more than 3℃ above the dew point, and ensure good ventilation. Avoid outdoor construction at night when temperatures are low, especially during seasons with condensation or rain.
5. The durability of water-based paint largely depends on good construction. For example, construction at sharp edges, rivets, and jump welds should be extra careful to avoid excessive thickness of the paint film. It is best to apply an additional coat.
